On March 8, 2024 around 7:30PM, Eric started a massive bonfire on the Oehler property. This fire was centered on our living room. He stood around with 7 other adults, mostly male, shouting insults. Large flaming embers rained on our flat roofed home. The fire department was called. Eric would not allow them access. He said it was a religious gathering. He told him he would put out the fire as evidenced by their notes (SEE BELOW AND SEE CODE VIOLATIONS PAGE FOR FULL DETAIL).
Instead, Eric let the fire burn out unattended as evidenced by our video (SEE BELOW). Fire is over 10 feet wide and about 12-15 feet tall at times. It was centered on our living room window we believe for maximum intimidation. We were watching TV and turned to see a wall of flames from the couch in our living room. Large embers and sparks were landing on the roof, going over our roof, and going toward the house across the street. There are four flat-roofed homes in our culdesac.
People from the fire yelled at me when I was in my kitchen. People were yelling insults at us and standing around the fire. How is this not meant to be intimidation? I believe any reasonable person would think this is meant for intimidation. Disordered (admittedly “drunk” per our security footage recording) driving of a bobcat and other construction vehicles is witnessed. This fire is distressing, irresponsible, and dangerous. This greatly affects the quiet enjoyment of my home. We feel unsafe in our own home.
Fire was not put out as instructed by Fire Department. At 10:47pm the bonfire is left burning and unattended (SEE BELOW). Followed up with call to LV fire prevention. Followed up email to LV Fire Prevention. Later in the summer, I requested the notes from the first responders.
Eric has chosen to characterize this as a simple family gathering in the TPO court hearing. There were no children present. Eric chose to characterize it as a “religious gathering” to the fire department.
There was a person wearing white nationalist imagery at the fire.
